January 2026 Newsletter: ICE Out and Last Year’s Recap

Welcome to this month’s newsletter! Each month, I try to share what I’ve been up to, what things I’ve published that month, and exciting news if there’s any to be shared.

News and updates

It has been a busy start to the year for Minnesota and the entire country. While more resources are listed below, we want to encourage you to contact your representatives today to tell them to block DHS funding until ICE stops their illegal actions against American people. Congress has until tomorrow to vote on funding, so don’t wait to act. You can also contact local representatives to demand they work to protect their constituents from federal agents and do not comply with illegal orders.

With the Twin Cities more than eight weeks into an occupation by federal agents, there is no more important time to stand up for our neighbors and reject the harm being done by this administration. We’ve put together a list of actions you can take, so when you ask, “But what can I do?”, there’s an answer. This list also includes links to other, more thorough lists, and we encourage you to add more ideas in the comments!

On a somewhat lighter note, we wanted to reflect on all the work we did in 2025. See our recap post of some of the highlights. If there’s something you missed, give it a read and think about how it might apply to the world right now!

Stay tuned next month for more blog posts, other resources, and another newsletter. Thanks for being a reader!
