Upcoming LGBTQ+ Events: Where to See Me in Action
Happy July, readers! This month, I’m going to be part of two exciting LGBTQ+ literary events on the East Coast. If you’re in the area and interested in queer/trans lit, I’d love to see you there. You can find the full details below.
Table of contents
Stephanie Burt’s Super Gay Poems
First up, on July 13th at 5:00pm I’ll be at All She Wrote Books in Somerville, MA to celebrate my good friend Stephanie Burt’s new book, Super Gay Poems. This book takes us on an adventure of selected LGBTQ+ poetry published since the Stonewall Uprising.
I’m excited to get to talk with Stephanie about her new book and help hype up its release. We’ll also discuss being trans/nonbinary humans in the current time. If you’re lucky, we may read from one of our co-authored projects. You can find more info and get tickets on the bookstore’s page.
Can’t make it to the event, but interested in knowing more about Super Gay Poems? Check out my interview with Stephanie where we talk about the book, LGBTQ+ resilience, and her own thoughts.
The 21st Annual GCLS Conference
The Golden Crown Literary Society is back to celebrate another year of sapphic literature, writers, and creators. GCLS is inclusive of authors and readers who are: lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, demisexual, queer, cisgender, transgender, nonbinary, Two Spirit, and more. The conference is in Albany, NY, from July 16-20th. Find tickets and more on their page.

You may recall that last year I was part of multiple events. This year, I’ll mostly be enjoying all the wonderful presentations, masterclasses, panels, and more. I am on the panel “My Body, My Book; Writing as Advocacy” on Friday, July 18 at 10am.
I’ll be at the trans/nonbinary meetup on Friday, and the author signing on Saturday. As a backup panelist, there’s also a chance I’ll make a surprise appearance on one of the other panels. There are so many great events to choose from! Perhaps you’ll run into me at one of them.
That’s what I’m up to this month. If you’re somewhere along the East Coast (or like to travel), our paths just might cross. Happy summer and happy reading!
