Blog posts from this month

As our political and cultural landscape grows more turbulent, storytelling becomes more important than ever. Ashton reflects on how they use storytelling as nourishment and a play space. They also explore how this use of stories helps them cope with the stressors of the world.

Building on the theme of coping and storytelling, Rachel shares compiled knowledge on the science behind transphobia. By understanding why others act the way they do, we can better grasp how to cope with and combat their rhetoric. This educational piece is a great resource for anyone dealing with transphobia—and let’s be real, that’s most of us.
Things that have brought us joy this month:
From Ashton:
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying a long-awaited release, DOOM: The Dark Ages. I started it the day after it released and finished it four days later, and am now doing another run on a higher difficulty (and more slowly). It’s a total overhaul of Eternal’s combat system, and while I was hesitant at first, I quickly fell in love. Just as before, it demands constant awareness and lightning reflexes, so it’s a great way to quiet my mind and only focus on one thing.
I’ve also done a lot of crafting, alone and with friends. Paint by numbers, birthday cards, diamond art, and some crochet. As the weather warms up, I find myself with more energy, and wanting to spend more time with others. I encourage you to do something crafty for yourself soon. It can be a traditional craft, or Legos, or a crafty plant pot or… anything that sparks your creativity! Allow yourself some time to play and do what feels good to you.
